Alfred Lor Shoots His Own

A photo blog - non commercial - just the stuff I Love.

The images below link to photo-series of current or recently completed projects.

I shoot mostly editorial and commercial photography for a living but shooting stories like the ones below are what I most enjoy.

All images in the respective series below would like to hang on walls - I am looking for a sponsor/partner/philanthropist to help in getting these images up on walls, in galleries and then (hopefully) in homes. Part profits to go toward those depicted or their charities.

My professional website as well as picture library can be found at

Kim’s House - Click on the image to view the whole series.

(This series is effectively an extension of the ‘Salt River Valley’ series)

Kim is a local artist who lives in a old cottage in the Salt River Valley, just outside Knysna - South Africa. Her house is full… full of art, full of feeling, full of moments. The walls are covered in fragments of its past, its past people and their lives. A child’s hand print is visible on a painted door, a message or ‘eureka’ moment’ reminder is scribbled on a hallway wall, a temporary sculpture of found objects seems to ebb and flow with each visit I make…

This series is an ongoing project, I hope to photograph a few more local artist’s homes in the next couple of weeks…. might make a nice book.
